A very exciting colt by a champion American two year old. American bred horses have done exceptionally well in the UK in recent years and are now very popular. He is a very impressive individual that looks like he should make a two year old for this year but with the size and scope to progress at three.
This colt came from the breeze-up sales this spring. At these sales you have the advantage that you can watch the horses at work on the racecourse and his piece of work can be seen on our website (click button below). He worked very well and Bryan Smart was very keen to acquire him.
This is the first foal out of his dam, Brackenber. Brackenber was herself a winner as a two year old. Her dam has already produced five winners including two Listed class horses. The third dam produced nine winners including four Listed or Group class horses.
His sire, Gilded Time, is a well established sire in America who has produced numerous class horses including at the highest level, Group 1. His progeny have already amassed earning of over $43.5 million and Gilded Times himself holds the record for the fastest time for a two year old to complete six furlongs. In 2007 he had no less than twelve Stakes winning horses and he was also the leading sire in Canada.
A stunning looking horse who worked very well at the breeze-up sales and one Bryan Smart just couldn't resist!
Prices - £2,920 to purchase full 1/12 share and £235 per month from April 2008 to include all training fees to date and, as he is by a non-european sire, the costs of registering him to the European Breeders Fund. Monthly payment option available, contact us for details. Optional insurance £7.50 per month.

This is a superbly bred individual, with the looks to match, and he is one we just couldn't resist at the sales. Of a good size he looks the type to make a two year old this year but with, as you would expect from his breeding, the scope to progress as a three year old.
His dam, Leopard Hunt, was a nice racehorse who won her maiden at two before achieving that all important 'Black Type' when placed at Listed level in the UK. She then went to the USA where she was also a winner. Leopard Hunt is full sister to another 'Black Type' horse, Capistrano Day, who won at Listed level and was placed at Group 3. This is her first foal.
The second dam, Alcando, was a top class horse winning at the highest level, Group 1, and she won races both in the UK and the USA. She produced six foals, all of whom were winners, and four of these were 'Black Type' performers.
The first, second and third dams were all winners and the family is crammed with performers at Group and Listed level.
War Chant, his sire, raced in the USA and won three Group races including the Breeders Cup mile, Group 1. He was only retired to stud in 2001 but has already produced numerous Group and Listed winners on both sides of the Atlantic. His progeny do win as two year olds but generally progress at three.
