The Trainer - Bryan Smart
Having bought the right horse the next most essential ingredient in being a successful owner is the trainer and all horses managed by us are trained by Classic winning trainer Bryan Smart from his base at Hambleton, Thirsk, near York. His historic Hambleton House stables, where the legendary Noel Murless trained, are the highest altitude training establishment in the UK.
Bryan has had a very successful career, first as a jockey with Jenny Pitman and Fred Winter and then as a trainer where the highlight must have been training the winner of the French Oaks. That has been far from his only major success as he has a brilliant record of training partnership horses such as Don Puccini who won the Weatherby Super Sprint and over £70,000 for his owners.
2006 saw another nice horse for Bryan when Hellvelyn won the first race at the redeveloped Royal Ascot - the Group 2 Coventry Stakes.
When you meet Bryan the first impression you get is that he is not only knowledgeable but above all focused. He knows where he is going and he will get there. With Bryan every horse is treated very much as an individual and they get the best of everything, that is no doubt the key to his success. With his wife Vicky, a highly regarded equine therapist, he is set to become a leading trainer in the north.
Bryan and Vicky have stated their 100% commitment to Pinnacle Racing and likewise we committed extra funds to Bryan for horse purchases this year - we will have at least £150,000 of two year olds for 2008.
